I know that, when drawing portraits, I tend to like changing the background, the lighting, the pose, anything I don't like... to make the picture "mine" (because I'm weird like that). But while looking for reference images, I came across one of him in his younger days that was so perfect I didn't want to change anything about it. (Which doesn't mean that I *didn't* mangle it!). So yeah, a scribbly tribute to the late, great Richard Feynman. Who was indeed a fine 'un.
While I love looking at photorealistic pencil drawings, I also like nothing better than to haphazardly scrawl lines in any and every direction without much attention to detail. [Kind of like how I like to listen to violin sonatas, but I prefer playing the trombone because it's loud, brash and rude like me. ] For some reason that roughness never managed to carry over when I switched to digital media; I'm hoping that, by resuming my pencil-scrawling activities, I'll be able to bring some of that over, LOL.
Wow. I love this scribbly, all-over pencil!! Such depth and lighting!! Nicely done, as always.

That's why I like your pencil drawings so much - it's all so raw. The first half of my KFM thread was filled with raw-lined drawings. I don't know why I stopped.

I love the "scrawling" effect of it It really adds to the mood of the picture. This is just awesome! I know what you mean about not wanting to change anything from a reference pic, sometimes it's just too perfect
Fantastic. I often wonder why you quit doing pencil cartoons and stuff, glad to see you doing it again. I love messy lines coming together to make something completely real

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
