100 Pictures Challenge #33: Expectations.
So anyway, yeah, a practice piece. Some time back,
showed us a very glamourous photograph of herself. I liked it because it looked like one of those old Chinese posters, and asked if I could paint it. (And it *was* a very good exercise in dress material behaviour). I was going to turn it into a vintage picture after I was done, but - well, I like the original coloured version better. This was kinda fun to do... except when my fingers threatened to drop off.
TECH NOTES
Original size 3366 x 4984 px. And before anybody asks: yes, I *did* actually paint the roses, bigger curls and straight lines on the couch. But aside from that, no, there is no intricate pattern on it, or on her bodice. That's just your eyes playing tricks on you, the way you see elephants and dragons in clouds. I scribble a lot.
EDIT: Repainted the curve of her forehead a little.
