The author suffers from hypergraphia, which is characterised by unstoppable, frenzied writing (and/or painting) on a particular subject, or on twenty different subjects, or whatever else may enter the person's mind (including delusions of becoming Supremely Evil World Tyrant of Pink Bunnies, which is occurring on a disturbingly regular basis). The Surgeon General has determined that this post may be detrimental to your ocular and mental health. If you experience dizziness, migraines, shortness of breath or temporary insanity, please report to the nearest hospital for medical aid.

The author would also like to state for the record that the author is *not* a crazed, romantic serial killer who keeps the heads and body parts of victims on display in various rooms of the house.

[The reader is advised to approach the following paragraph with caution]

I am livid with somebody right now to the point of wanting to do serious damage to their person - which of course, I am in no position to do. I refuse to say more, save that not only did (1) said person cause me to lose FIVE HOURS of hard work (there are things that not even CTRL+Z can save), but (2) said person refused to take responsibility for said damage, but also (3) when I was trying to do damage control later, said person not only refused to leave, but loftily said that I needed to make more fatal errors sometimes. :angered: Emo rant, sure, but I don't think it's so much angst as undistilled aggression that currently has no outle and might build up to dangerous levels.

They could have, at LEAST, said they were sorry. :angered:

WEDNESDAY, 6 MARCH

=DragonWinter's Wintertime Contest finally wrapped up last weekend with whomping success. It was interesting seeing the (awesome) level of response, and a great learning experience for all of us. Kudos to Winter for holding such a gigantic competition and yet managing to keep it coherent every step of the way, and salutations to my fellow judges for their hard work. And of course, a big round of applause for all the winners, and everyone else who took the time and effort to participate. :D

Featuring the winners of Winter's Wintertime Contest. Heartiest congratulations! :trophy:

DIGITAL ART

1st place

Cydonian Winter
by *amano--wILD7

Amano is a 'musician, painter, writer and part-time superhero', whose fantasy inclinations and storytelling abilities come together in his comics series, Knights of Cydonia. (Muse is good! so is Mozart!).

2nd place

by =chasing-butterflies

Michelle is a multi-talented artist whose talents include photomanipulation, journal-skinning, making textures/brushes and jewellery, and painting.

3rd place

by ~WraithTen

Tory is a traditional artist who has recently made her foray into the field of digital art. Has an evil sense of humour which she denies has anything to do with the Dark Side, and a dog that eats her art supplies.

FRACTALS

1st place

by *Direct2Brain

There are plenty of specialists in the fields of photography, manipulation and fractals, but it is rare indeed to find one who take their art one step further to create something that feels like a new art form. Please check out Stefano Menicagli's DA gallery or his website for more awesome art.

2nd place

by *Nestalgica

It's hard to describe Nestalgica's fractals without using the word 'awesome' (and its synonyms) to excess. If crisp fractals with a slightly fantasy-ish feel are your thing, you should definitely pay his gallery a visit.

3rd place

by =Alis86

Alice is a deviant of many talents, whose abilities are definitely not just restricted to art.

PHOTOMANIPULATION

1st place

by *Boxiom

Ryan Gilly's Snow on Earth utterly blew us away - and he needs to upload more of his Photoshop goodness for people to see and appreciate.

2nd place

by *NightmareTF

Mr. Vollebregt calls himself a 'digital landscaper' - which is an understatement once you've seen the rest of his gallery and choice of tools.

3rd place

by ~zardo

Zardo's gallery of somewhat dark, brooding pieces reflects his interest in psychology and Tim Burton movies.

Wow, besides being a Sith master and a master artist, you're also master of the journal art feature. :mwahaha: Great job!

Well, the longer I put it off, the more likely my swiss cheese memory will (embarrassingly) overwrite the information. ;) Cheers to you for the tremendous effort you put into organising this competition.

 Thank you so much for such a fabulous feature! You've put this together so well!

PS - I LOVE your journal css! I've been wanting to tackle dropdowns for a while now and been hesitant to do it - but after seeing your journal I have an itch to try it myself :D

You're most welcome. :D Congratulations on your placing!

I actually used CSS for the dropdowns. ;) It was a major pain getting all the sections to line up properly, but the payoff was enormous. Good luck with yours.

Love the journal, well aside from the fact that I'm in it. :faint:

I can't stop doing that. ;)

Seriously, TYTYTYTY for all your hard work.

:faint:

See what you do to me?

Sithlords...can't live with 'em and you can't force fry 'em.

You keep fainting on me like that, and you're going to get a lifetime's supply of ammonia. Timed release bottles. Never mess with us Sith Lords.

And pfssh, what hard work? you're the one who did the hard work of drawing that insane comic. ;)

--
"It's a source of great amusement to me, your reprehensibility." - =DragonWinter
Oh. :wtf: Well then don't look at my comment on your journal.

I said don't look at it!

Step away from the ammonia crazy man...don't come near me with that. I'll touch you, I mean it! ;)

Hard work...let me see, time you spent judging and let's not forget ALL my questions about drawing the piece in the first place. I'm surprised your head didn't explode.

An awesome take of Garrity by :iconcatharsisjb:=CatharsisJB. In a certain light, Garrity *can* be a pretty humourous character. :D

A tribute to Molly! Just how awesome can :icondragonwinter:`DragonWinter get?

Awesome gifts from the great fractalist :icondragonwinter:`DragonWinter, dedicated Sith apprentice and great friend. :D

My Helicobacter pylori with its very own iPod, (many) thanks to :iconfeeldaforce:~FeeldaForce. :D

CAN-nibalism??? A decidedly twisted take on an already twisted phenomenon, from real-life buddy :iconlattebleu:*LatteBleu

Skrewed by a Skrewt! Not only is :iconmizzillan:*mizzillan's sketch evilly funny, it comes with an equally reprehensible title.

:iconocelott:~ocelott's pet gizka Cati performs an endearing Happy Birthday sing-and-dance for cheesecake.

... And ~ocelott's mother :iconpsychoticdustbunny:*psychoticdustbunny draws me with my... uh, pink boa for a birthday picture. Watch out for that snake, kids. He's *evil*.

My Aunt :iconwraithten:~WraithTen claims that I am a psychotic computer who experiments on hapless humans. When did my mask fall off???

Now, I've been fortunate enough to receive gifts all this while... but this is the first time somebody's actually drawn a picture of *me*. :aww: Thank you very much, :iconwraithten:~WraithTen

TRADES

:thumb62885957:

:iconmaquaii:*Maquaii Mandalorian Wars shows a side of war seldom portrayed: the anxiety and the miserable long wait, while battle rages on elsewhere.

A deceptively cute, foul-mouthed parrot from :icontheansu:~theAnsu in exchange for a pair of gizka slippers. :D And...

Something that you need to see for yourself, whether you're a Star Wars fan or no. Suspiciously deranged artwork, it may be, but it's also a work of utterly evil genius.

FEATURES

Awesome creations brought to you by Darth Mommy, :icondragonwinter:`DragonWinter.

Origami gizkas and potato sculptures of pigs are proof of :iconlattebleu:*LatteBleu's insane(ly creatively funny) mind.
