Where Nine Rivers Meet

A painting of Xitang, based on my vacation photographs. Don't be fooled: It MAY look peaceful, but it's anything BUT. As our tour guide put it, "If you don't keep moving, the crowd will move you."

Xitang is an ancient water town located on the border of Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai. It is built on the banks of nine crisscrossing rivers. I understand that Tom Cruise ran all over its rooftops four years back...

Yes, I wrote the Chinese characters. Yes, my calligraphy is dreadful. Don't look!
