You Left Your Mark

100 Pictures Challenge #88: Pain.

WARNING: This is not a medically accurate picture. If you use this as reference for your biology paper, you will almost certainly fail. Unless of course your biology teacher happens to be your art one as well, in which case you might also be tossed out of class for gross insult of the human body.

My end of a long, long, long overdue art trade with ~KnightSavtrian. I hope this is what you had in mind... although I suppose you never imagined oozing pustules, LOL!

Part sculpture, part photography, part painting/manipulation. Because I'm currently at this stage where I need something real and solid to hold and mutilate and scar.

Heart base sculpted with orange plasticine, staples, screws, unravelled twine, sewing thread (yes, I really *did* suture the damn thing), pins, card and cellophane tape, soaked tissue paper, and an old watch compass. Picture heavily modified with Corel Photopaint. The blood is actually red+brown watercolour... thus proving that, while I can't do watercolour paintings to save my life, that box of colours isn't exactly wasted either.


_{SIDENOTE: I kept smelling fresh meat and formaldehyde the whole time I was doing this. While it's interesting that certain imagery triggers certain sounds or smells for me, nevertheless it is not very pleasant to be drinking coffee but smelling, well,... flesh.}
